Just past Wardley village
I was hoping to stop at the Sun Inn in Belton-in-Rutland for lunch, but it didn't seem to be open, and it was a little early (11:45) for all it felt like lunchtime to me! (Not sure how many calorie
s you burn walking
in these sort of conditions, but its a fair number). However, no luck with lunch, so on to Uppingham - I hadn't been to Wardley before, and was wondering whether it would have a pub, but its a bit smaller than that - a couple of houses, a farm and a church. And on we go!
The walk from the parking lot to the cave was somewhat long. To placate visitors, the park put up signs that say "Your walk has burned X calories so far". This one says, 400 calories, enough to burn off a peach!
update: Venessa pointed out that a peach is neither 400 calories nor 400 Calories. Now I'm not sure what the sign says.
